About Our Farm
Desert Sky Dorpers is currently utilizing 10+ acres of flood irrigated pasture filled with lush naturally grown Bermuda grass in the summer and planted with Ryes and Sudan grasses in the winter months. Desert Sky Dorpers takes pride in the health and quality of the stock we produce. We use strict pasture management added to the constant access to free minerals and sodium bicarbonate to produce high end sheep that look and taste amazing.
Our Mission
Our mission at Desert Sky Dorpers is dedicated to the health and wellness of all of our flock members no matter if they are meant to be pets, show, or commercial meat. Our flock is veterinarian checked regularly and we are using our vet's recommended vaccination and deworming meds and schedules. We use quality feeds and supplements on top of our naturally grown grass pastures to keep our sheep healthy, happy, and lean.
Our Story
Desert Sky Dorpers is a multi-generational Farm serving the people of Arizona and the Southwest. Through many years of farming and raising livestock for personal enjoyment and use, we decided in 2019 that there was so much more we could use our facilities and irrigated pastures for. After a lot of reading and researching, My family and I decided to purchase a few young Dorper ewes to try them on our naturally growing grasses and they thrived. Dorpers are so well adjusted to our warm and arid climate that even the hottest days are enjoyed grazing pastures or lounging in the shade of our 200+ Mission olive trees. Desert Sky Dorpers is the permanent home of over 30 happy and healthy Dorpers and our plan is to home around 100 by the end of 2024. Please call and schedule a visit with us.
